A world of water fun awaits at Eagle Cliff Campground & Lodging in Lanesboro, Minnesota, thanks to the inviting Root River that loops around the park. You'll find easy access to the river and all the equipment you need to rent for canoeing, kayaking and tubing. Soaring bluffs and wildlife such as deer, red-tailed hawks, river otters and a great many fish await those on a river ride. Bicyclists, skaters and hikers can head to the Root River State Trail, consisting of miles of scenic paved routes through picturesque towns in the southeastern part of the state.
You can book your space at Eagle Cliff using the easy online reservation system. Pitch a tent on the banks of the river or check out the many RV sites with hookups. Fire rings and picnic tables are available at each spot. If you'd like to stay at the charming five-room lodge, book early--it's very popular. The large, non-smoking rooms can accommodate up to four people and feature a private entrance, full bath, two queen beds, television, air conditioning and deck. Kettle grills and a central fire pit are provided, perfect for group gatherings. Groups of any size are always welcome at Eagle Cliff. And everyone gets a fifth night free!
Entertaining ways to spend the day and nights are plentiful. Special events at the park include Christmas in July, Halloween in August, fireworks and a bike and golf cart parade for the Fourth of July, karaoke parties, and a tube race on the Root River. Plays at the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro are performed in an intimate setting with unique design elements. The building is a converted cheese factory with barn doors used as bathroom stalls. Explore Minnesota's longest cave and view a restored village at the Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. Visit the farms and shops of the Amish communities on one of the numerous tours. Trout is the king fish here, and you can learn some important skills for catching some at the National Trout Learning Center in Preston. The five room lodge at Eagle Cliff is popular, and books up quickly. These rooms offer the comforts of home, and are great for group gatherings, where some of the group prefers to camp while others enjoy not. These rooms are large (14' x 28'), non-smoking, and sleep 1-4 people in comfort. Each room features a private entrance, full bath, two queen beds, TV, air conditioning and deck.
Eagle Cliff offers many options for camping: primitive tent sites along the river, electric only, electric/water, and full hook-up. Each site is large and includes a fire ring and picnic table. Camping rates listed below are per night, for 2 people. Additional adults/children will be charged as indicated, with a maximum of 6 people per site. 2011 rates:

Any person registering for a campsite must be 18 years of age and be responsible for all members of their group. Please refer to our cancellation policy and campground rules. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 12 noon. No check-ins after 11 p.m. A two night stay is required on weekends; three nights on a holiday weekend.
- At the time of your reservation, we take a credit card number to hold your site.
- Should you need to cancel, you must call at least 14 days before your stay to avoid penalty
- No cancellations less than 7 days before your scheduled stay.
- Please note that we do adhere to our cancellation policy in all circumstances. Eagle Cliff cannot be responsible for cancellations due to poor weather, work obligations, or any other reason.
